The Mandela Day Unseen Tour

On 18th July we celebrate “Nelson Mandela Day“. To mark the 67 years that he fought for equality, we will be taken on a 67 minute tour of Mayfair, London.  This tour will be led by Vinny who slept rough in Mayfair from 2003 – 2006.

Homelessness is a sad and growing reality for London and for Londoners. It is when we open our eyes and see that we share our streets – if not our lives – with people who have so much less than us, that we are shown – again and again – how inequality exists and how inequality devastates people’s lives.

Leading the ‘unseen tours’ of Mayfair has given Vinny a chance to use his knowledge of the streets to make a living and a new life as a member of the award winning social enterprise Sock Mob Events.

We invite you to spend 67 minutes remembering the legacy of Nelson Matiba Mandela’s 67 year struggle. We will walk the path of those who struggle for a better life and who fight for equality.

Meet at 12:30pm outside Marks and Spencers on Stratton Street.
