Brick Lane
The Brick Lane Unseen Tour starts in Hoxton Square, one time haunt of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin before they or the square were well known, and wanders through main and back streets until it finishes at Spitalfields Market. This multicultural area, a primer for trade unions, women’s equality and the Labour party is no longer a melting pot of the poor but now trendy and expensive. Our guide, an East Londoner who has played, worked and slept rough in the streets will lead you on this antithesis of a Ripper style tour.
The Brick Lane tour lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes. At the end of each tour, your guide will point you to a historical local pub or cosy cafe where you can continue to enjoy London… why not ask the guide to join you?
The Brick Lane tour happens every Friday through to Sunday, starting at 7pm on Fri (Please note Friday evenings are bookings only) and 3pm Sat/Sun. We meet on the corner of Rufus Street and Hoxton Square N1 6PB (nearest tube Old Street) – look out for our homemade cardboard sign!
Tickets cost £7 concessions or £10. Click here to book online…or be spontaneous and just turn up at the meeting point on Saturday and Sunday!
And remember that we also do flexible bookings for groups of five people or more at any other time Monday – Friday, perfect for team-building awaydays, school outings or just a group of friends looking for an unusual, fun day out! Email walk@sockmobevents.org.uk or call 07514 266 774/5 to reserve.
We also provide two free places per tour for people who are unable to pay and/or are accompanying someone as a carer. Please call the number above to arrange, and feel free to give us a ring if you have any questions about the tours or trouble finding us.
